American Pixel Academy honours Stella and Sam with Platinum Pixie Award

January 6, 2011

Every year the Pixie Awards recognize outstanding creativity in animation, motion graphics and effects. Industry professionals judge the competition and past winners include Cookie Jar Entertainment, Fresh TV, Animax Entertainment and Atomic Cartoons in Vancouver. The winning episode was entitled "Night Fairies", wherein nine-year-old Stella helps her four-year-old brother Sam prepare for his first backyard camp-out. The judges' thought it was a “good concept, well written and executed" also stating that it was "a great example of excellent animation."

The news of the win comes days before the official broadcast premiere of the show on January 9th at 10:30am ET on Playhouse Disney Canada. Radical Sheep Productions is currently in pre-production on the second season of Stella and Sam.
