Radical Sheep Strikes Development Deal with YTV for Groundbreaking Marionette/CG Series

Radical Sheep Productions, leading producer of children's and family programming, is pleased to announce a deal with YTV to develop a new children's property entitled Mr. Ramsbottom. The show will venture into new television territory by merging traditional marionette puppetry with CG animation.

Mr. Ramsbottom features a young boy named Gordon, who, taunted by the resident boogieman Mr. Ramsbottom, starts to taunt back. The show is about their never-ending game of mishaps, misdirections and mischief. As the intrigue builds, the boy is revealed as being both clever and sneaky, always finding a way to topple the mean Mr. Ramsbottom. The result is a mishmash of spooky, mysterious and outright hilarious moments between hero and villain. After all, isn't it about time someone stood up to the monster in their closet?

John Leitch, president of Radical Sheep Productions says of Mr. Ramsbottom: "The series is clever, fresh and devilishly fun. There really is nothing else like it. Here we have sophisticated CG giving an otherworldly appearance not yet seen in a marionette format. The combination is surreal. The CG adds a level of weirdness, tension, shock and of course, lots of laughs."

Created by Jim Goodall and developed by David Reilly (Farzzle's World, The Incredible Voyage), the Ramsbottom team also boasts the involvement of internationally-acclaimed director/producer/puppeteer master Ronnie Burkett. Best known for his stage shows Tinka's New Dress, Street of Blood and Happy, he is world-reknowned for his ability to make and manipulate marionettes with an eerie sense of life likeness. Ronnie Burkett's unique character designs and construction will breathe life into the strings of the cast of Mr. Ramsbottom.

Mr. Ramsbottom is a CG animated/live-action series for boys and girls aged 6-11.
