When Ken Barvarian accidentally digs up the coffin of Nossferty the Vampire King in his backyard, Ken realizes he could pass off Nossferty as a young kid and convinces his wife they should adopt him. Nossferty is a very tiny, old king who has been asleep for over 3000 years. Naturally, his first instinct is to create a vampire army and take over the world – starting with the unbelievably chipper and wholesome neighbourhood of Sunny Hills where he now lives and the middle school he attends.
Nossferty is a confident, cocky character but doesn’t have many social graces and has little luck gaining friends or talking to girls. He does, however, form a strange bond with a geek named Chester. Together, they recruit squirrels and other animals to join their vampire army. Chester, however, remains human because he’s too scared to convert.
